Digital Hive Mind, a Rockford-based advertising and creative agency, was invited by Bombshell Productions to film the installation of artwork at the new Equal Justice Initiative Freedom Monument Sculpture Park in Montgomery, Alabama. Located on the banks of the Alabama River, the 17-acre park showcases historical artifacts as well as more than 50 contemporary artworks to honor the lives of the 10 million Black people who were enslaved in America.

Over the course of a year, Digital Hive Mind’s team made multiple trips to Montgomery to film the installation of sculptures and artifacts in the park. The footage will be kept as a record of the establishment of the park, as well as a reference for how each piece should be handled if it ever needs to be moved.

Digital Hive Mind also created a 32-minute video, which was featured at the park’s inaugural dinner, spotlighting the artists and each piece of their work on display at the park. The park’s opening celebrations spanned 3 days and were attended by artists, their families, special guests, as well as prominent figures including the Reverend Jesse Jackson, Alicia Keys, and Leslie Odom, Jr.

Collaborating with Bombshell’s team and these renowned sculptors to document the installation of their artwork has been a proud moment for us. And witnessing the park’s development unfold, the transformation of an empty field into a world-class museum in such a short period of time, has been truly remarkable. We’re honored to be a part of it.
